Join Lisa Thompson, President of Affordable Housing Specialists and previously the VP of Housing Programs with the National Center for Housing Management with over 28 years of experience in affordable housing, who will lead this video-based training covering programs affected by HOTMA, with a focus on changes to:

  • Treatment of Net Family Assets
  • Deductions and adjustments to income
  • Rent calculations
  • Rules on processing Interim Recertifications


This course is intended for owners and managers of HUD-assisted housing, including projects under the Project-Based Section 8, Section 202/811, HOME and National Housing Trust Fund programs.


Although some of the provisions covered in this training are likely to apply to LIHTC properties, the IRS has not yet confirmed which portions of HOTMA will apply to the LIHTC program. Separate trainings will be developed after the IRS confirms the applicability of HOTMA to the LIHTC program.
